We all know about the Halloween event that happened in October. I just thought of different ideas for Christmas or any type of holiday. We all know that these type of special event would happen at either Lion Arch or Droknor Forge or others. I think for Christmas, it should happen at Droknor Forge (its near the shiverspeak mountain and it has snow) Also we all know that we might get a different character that give us treats and stuffs (Last time it was the Mad King and those undead horseman). This time, i think it would be Santa Claus. But instead of having A-net program some fat guy in red suit. They should used a Charr and put him in the Santa uniform. Called him "Santa Charr"

On the week before Christmas, they should put in christmas presents (boxes or treasure chests around Forge and other places) Also it would be fun if there is a naught and nice system input throughout Tyria. Say you can collect certain events or items that if you do it. It would record down (say there a town person that need to cross the broken bridge) you can choose to help out and get reward with item that symbolize that you are good. Or you can ignore that person (or even take him into a near by enemies and have him get killed) than you get bad points. This would determine if Santa Charr would give you good gift or lump of coals for Christmas.

How the event should go off? Well, at Forge there should be a huge chair for Santa Charr to set on. As for helpers, there should be bunch of dwafes around Santa Charr. With presents and other things. The setting should have snow, and maybe a talking snow man (similar to that talking dead corpse that we got in Lion Arch) that talk about different things. Also how can you get christmas without Christmas Tree, there should be bunch around that area with decoration that symbolize the event.

The event is simple (and same time line as Mad King event without the Mad King said game) Basically when Santa Charr arrive, the christmas tree around the chair would be spinning and changing to different color to signal that he arrive. And out come Santa Charr with his huge bag of goodies. He would say his usual line "Marry Christmas.." and others. Than sat on the chair and wait for each characters (us) to get in line and to collect our present. It would be a fast pace event since the time line (if a-net can push this event into the 1 hour mark.. maybe everyone will get a gift) So everyone would be forced to line up. (invisible boarder that keep us in line) and we wait for our turn. Or the other method is to have us in a whole group and the helpers will look on the list and randomly call people out. Per character, it would last around 1 minute or even less. Basically Santa Charr will ask you (while you sat on his lap) are you good this christmas and what do you want. You can say items or nothing at all and you should receive a present from Santa Charr.

If you say your naughty (or got too many bad points) than you get a lump of coals in your inventory. The helper would come by with bag and "boom" flash of light and you get something in your inventory. It can range from gold, purple armors to weapons. To materials in bundle like 5 ecto or somethings smiliar to that. As soon as you get a item, you are move out of range from Santa Charr (should be code in the system to keep people from cutting in line and getting items constantly)

Once everyone get their Christmas Gift, than Santa Charr would leave by his Moa Birds ride. Also there should be similar things like collecting items (badges and other stuffs) to be traded in for items like Christmas Eggnot, and candy cane. This event would be 1 hours and it run 4 time on Christmas day. And for everyone that got their present, they also should receive a santa hat to show that they were in the event.

There could be lots of bug or exploit that people might try but its a fun way for A-net to treat us with great event and give us something to remember on Christmas. I know this is alot of ask for A-net to do in one month but maybe they can do something similar next year for Christmas.

I particularly like the idea of sitting in Santa Charr's lap by my self... that would make me feel special

Like the idea about good and bad reward points that determine your gift but I'm not sure whether it might be too complicated a system to run.

Sitting on Santa's lap? - eeew.. adults sitting on some old man's lap... >_<
Bad/good points? - what's the point?

A lot sounds like wishful thinking to me really. I bet Anet will make it like Mad King with some additions.

How about a glowing red Ruldolf Nose? lol or a Snowman head lol, but here's something to consider, not every country celebrates xmas with santa claus, i know a few people that are acctually offended by it lol.

Or what if your jewish or something, i think it has to be something more attuned to winter itself? a snow man, an angel, budwiser horses (errm how did that get in there lol )

So maybe something a little less specific would do better, tho i wouldn't mind a santa hat, or some jungle bal...err bells..lol..careful...we might get lumps of coal instead lol.....hey wait we have thoses already! lol

Oh forgot about this. You all know there some people out there are dumb and would do anything to get their presents. Say if you get this particular person sit on Santa Charr's lap and he or she start cussing out Santa or use RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO wording to Santa Charr. That would immediately get slayed and take a lump of coal as his Christmas present. And Santa put your name on the bad list (which might affect how your other characters can get good items)

This system would be used to punish those who won't listen and be nice to Santa Charr.

How far would A-Net's event for Christmas would be different from my idea?

Would peole think this kind of event is unreasonable since A-Net is basically giving out free weapons or items to people. Whats your opinion on this?

Hopefully A.Net will be able to come up with something more original than this. People need to remember we're talking about Tyria, not your local mall.

While I do hope they do something, I will be horribly, horribly disappointed if I see a "Santa" character.
